Thank you for your feedback on our email alerts. Email delivery can be affected by many factors, including email providers (Yahoo, Gmail, AT&T, etc.) who deliberately throttle delivery to customers when a large volume of email hits their systems, full customer inboxes, and email filters applied by individuals and companies.
Messages sometimes show up in inboxes days later because our servers keep trying to send messages that could not be delivered to email providers for various reasons.
We have found that app push alerts and phone call alerts delivered by WeatherCall are less likely to experience delays during big breaking news or weather events. Both of those systems also have the advantage of being better able to grab the attention of users because they trigger a phone call or audible or vibrating alert.
